Thespian Troupe 1220 is one of three national organizations at Hazelwood East. (National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta being the other two.) Once a Spartan Player has earned ten points they are inducted into Thespian Troupe 1220 at the end of the school year, and become an active member of Thespian Troupe 1220 the following school year. (Seniors who earn 10 points their senior year are still inducted into Thespian Troupe 1220.) In addition to the Homecoming Parade and Winter Dance, Thespians are responsible for the school's "male beauty pageant", Mr. EHS. There are five officers of Thespian Troupe 1220. Each officer is responsible for a certain event. In January members of Thespian Troupe 1220 attend the Missouri State Thespian Festival.
