Welcome

More Than Just Acting

You hear about the plays through announcements and your peers.
You may find yourself sitting in the audience of a show, gandering at the production that has consumed so much time from all of the  participants.
You call those on stage theatre geeks, thesPians, lame, or just the ordinary actor/actress.
But  there's so much more to being a member of the Theatre Department than just standing up on stage reciting lines.

This is more than just acting.

The time, effort, and emotions put into every production is more than extracurricular.

Being a performer takes an overabundance of time and effort in order to make the whole experience worthwhile. No one wants to spend long, grueling hours participating in after-school rehearsals and line memorization only to have the production... "suck", so to speak. These practices, the time spent in and out school, EVERYTHING is set forth to collectively bring an enjoyable show (and possible Cappie nomination) to those who live, breathe, and sweat theatre.

Next time you so happen to find yourself gazing upon a production that is tantalizing and mind blowing, don't think of those on stage sweating in the spotlights as acting. It's so much more than that.

Anohter thing; do not let anyone convince you that acting is a waste of time, that we are the "starving artists", or anything else like that. Acting is a great path to follow and it can take you anywhere! So come on down and audition for the current productions and maybe you may find yourself in a world like no other: the world of ACTING!

Theatre is life, and we are living it to the fullest!
